HDR Practice

It was a sunny day so I decided to try some more HDR photography. The outside of our building has a lot of texture that really pops with the 50mm.

This picture was shot with a very narrow depth of field and mixed with the "surrealistic" preset as a base.

This was done with a wider depth of field and was mixed more towards photo realistic.

When I took this picture I imagined it turrning out much better/more interesting.
It was somewhat troublesome to mix and really shows me that just because I thought something would look cool in HDR doesn't mean that it will.

Arts and crafts

We were painting our D&D miniatures and I had my friend hold up mine for a picture.
I was quite struck with the way the light plays across his hand and the figure.

You can clearly see the focus of a master craftsman in his intense gaze.

I was playing around with depth of field a bit and I was pleased with the results.

It's a little strange using a Prime lens instead of a zoom lens but I think the experience will reall help me in the long run.

It begins

I hope you enjoy my photo experiments & projects as much as I will enjoy producing them.
