Depth of field

I like this picture of my model because you can almost quite
literally count how many inches wide the depth of field is.


I just put this here because I thought this was a fun use of the narrow depth of field.
That poor little rouge has no idea what's behind him.


I'm struck at how much a few stops can change the way a picture feels.
This picture has an aperture of 1.8 and the leaves are nicely blurred while
the top of the post is crisply in focus.


This picture was shot with an aperture of 3.2.
The ground and leaves are still blurry, but the picture has a very different feel than it did at 1.8.
